THE City of South Perth has circulated a list (available on its website) of at least 10 substantial potential disadvantages for the proposed amalgamation of the City with the Town of Victoria Park.
Top of the list is the initial net cost of $9.62 million (less State Government grants) estimated across the first four years.
Disclosed is the scant statement “There will be other capital costs in future years, for example full costs for possible new council offices”.
Certainly if this was a public company, decisions would not be made unless an estimated figure had been calculated for capital costs; but in this instance, nothing.
