Prodi­gious pair named in squad

TWO LO­CAL TEENS TO REP­RE­SENT STATE IN CRICKET

TWO South Perth play­ers were se­lected in the WA Cricket As­so­ci­a­tion’s 13-man squad to rep­re­sent the State at the Na­tional Un­der-19 Cham­pi­onships in Ade­laide un­til Jan­uary 22.

Alex Bevilaqua and Brooke Guest are in the squad, which has a num­ber of play­ers hav­ing ex­pe­ri­ence in the Aus­tralian U19 setup over the past 12 months.

Guest at­tended the Na­tional Cricket Cen­tre in April as part of the U18 Tal­ent Camp.

WA has a strong pace at­tack with five front line quicks se­lected who have all had First Grade ex­pe­ri­ence this sea­son. The pace line-up, along with all-rounder Keaton Critchell, will al­low WA to keep their squad fresh in the ex­pected tough Ade­laide con­di­tions.

This car­ni­val is seen as a ma­jor step in the path­way to be­com­ing an Al­co­hol.Think Again Western War­rior and the play­ers can ex­pect a num­ber of op­por­tu­ni­ties to ex­tend their cricket as re­sult of strong show­ings in Ade­laide.

Pre­vi­ous par­tic­i­pants Ash­ton Agar and Will Bo­sisto both played for WA less than 12 months after the car­ni­val and many oth­ers have had Toy­ota Fu­tures League op­por­tu­ni­ties.

The Aus­tralian U19 team also has three in­ter­na­tional se­ries both in Aus­tralia and over­seas in the next nine months.
