Charity has million reasons to smile
CARLISLE-based charity Life Cycle for CanTeen has reached a formidable milestone, raising more than $1 million for the Australian organisation for young people living with cancer. Jenny Aramini said the group had held 15 three-day road rides and three three-day Munda Biddi Trail off-road rides since 1998 with fundraising for the next ride from Perth to Busselton in March pushing the total donations to CanTeen past $1 million. “It’s of great excitement to both Life Cycle and CanTeen members,” Ms Aramini said. “All the committee members and crew are volunteers who have given many thousands of hours over the years.” CanTeen supports 12 to 24-year-olds who are patients, siblings, offspring or bereaved.
