THREE TALES OF IN­TRIGUE, DRAMA

IN his role as a de­tec­tive sergeant in Lime­light The­atre’s lat­est pro­duc­tion, a thriller called Deadly Re­la­tions, Como res­i­dent Ron Arthurs no­tices that the hus­band of a dead woman may have some­thing to hide.

Writ­ten and di­rected by Bob Char­teris, the play fol­lows the un­ex­pected events that oc­cur after Cyn­thia Owens’ death – on the day of her fu­neral, a de­tec­tive calls in relation to a hit-and-run ac­ci­dent that in­volved her car.

“There is a sim­ple ex­pla­na­tion but Mr Owens ap­pears to have some­thing to hide,” said Arthurs, who plays De­tec­tive Sergeant Wil­liam Ross, of the Bullsbrook CID.

“He’s a po­lice­man with a duty to the com­mu­nity – or some­thing un­ex­pected,” he said.

“The main chal­lenge is hold­ing back the plot twist from my voice, although some­thing is re­vealed at the end of my first scene.”

Pas­sion­ate about all as­pects of film and stage act­ing - ap­pear­ing in 25 lo­cal film pro­duc­tions since mid 2013 - Arthurs first per­formed as a 10-year-old when he wrote,

di­rected and starred in a school play.

“It’s all about the au­di­ence con­nec­tion. I love en­ter­tain­ing peo­ple to make them laugh,
