EVERYTHING’S coming up roses when you live at 70 Anstey Street in scenic South Perth.

While away the day gardening or visit a nearby cafe for that morning cuppa. Better yet, soak up the gorgeous WA summer in the private back yard, complete with a below-ground pool and alfresco space.

Come dinner time, pick mangoes, lemons and oranges from the bore-reticulated mini orchard or spice up those steaks with a pinch of fresh herbs from the vegie patch.

In walking distance to the dining and shopping precincts on Coode and Angelo streets, all this awaits in this gorgeous cottage on an 829sq m block.

The owner, who bought the home seven years ago, lived there with wife and children until recently.

“We had our family of five living there but the kids have moved on now, which is why my wife and I are selling,” he said.

“We spent a lot of time in the family living areas and the rear entertaining area, especially when the kids were still teenagers.”

Past manicured rose gardens, a modest facade greets visitors. The entry opens to reveal a light-drenched front lounge featuring a feature fireplace mantle, ornate cornicing and polished timber floorboards.

A door reveals the study or guest bedroom, which carries through with the period features.

On the other side of the lounge, a set of double doors lead through to the open-plan main living space, where there is a corner kitchen overlooking the dining and lounge and out to the gorgeous outdoors.

The master bedroom is tucked away just off the family area and has built-in robes and an ensuite.

The two secondary bedrooms, also with built-in robes, are in a separate wing with the main bathroom.

Additional features include ducted airconditioning, a secure storeroom with roller door at the front, a well-equipped laundry and powder room.

There is also off-street parking for four vehicles behind security gates.

The owners said the location was unbeatable.

“What we really love is the location and the proximity to shops, the cafes; everything was within walking distance,” he said.

“It’s a really, really great area with fantastic neighbours.”
