Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - Swan Electorate -

APPLICATIONS are open for community and environmental groups and local councils to nominate new Green Army projects.

Swan MHR Steve Irons said Round 3 of applications was underway.

The projects support practical activities while providing people aged 17 to 24 with the chance to get training and experience in environmental and conservation fields.

To be eligible for Round 3, project sponsors must have at least one project ready to begin be- tween June 1, 2015 and June 30, 2016.

“Projects must run for 20 to 26 weeks and can take place across urban, regional and remote Australia on public land, indigenousheld lands or private land,” Mr Irons said.

“Projects must benefit the environment or national or indigenous heritage and offer participants valuable practical experience.”
