Con­nect­ing gen­er­a­tions

ROSE­WOOD Nurs­ing Home res­i­dents spent time re­cently bond­ing with Bel­mont young­sters at Cloverdale Child­care.

“Our Cloverdale chil­dren pre­pared their de­li­cious bak­ing for morn­ing tea for our vis­i­tors and spent the morn­ing singing songs to­gether,” Cloverdale Child­care direc­tor An­to­nia Mur­phy said.

“We cel­e­brated some of our favourite Aussie songs by singing We’re Happy Lit­tle Vegemites in cel­e­bra­tion of Australia Day,” she said.

Res­i­dents from the aged-care fa­cil­ity visit ev­ery few months to in­ter­act with the chil­dren, who are all aged be­tween six weeks and five years.

“We be­lieve in main­tain­ing a strong con­nec­tion in our com­mu­nity,” Ms Mur­phy said.

“It’s fan­tas­tic to have our older com­mu­nity mem­bers shar­ing their time with the younger gen­er­a­tion.”
