New digital technology set to be installed at airport

Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - Near You -

PERTH AIRPORT’S digital technology will be installed next year as part of a $20 million contract signed with Saab Sensis.

Integrated Tower Automation Suite (INTAS) has already been in- stalled at new control towers in Broome, Rockhampton, Adelaide and Melbourne airports.

“By transitioning away from a manual, paper-based system, controllers are able to concentrate more on the visual surveillance of the airport and aircraft, which supports increased situational awareness and enhanced safety,” Airservices projects and engineering executive general manager Mark Rodwell said.
