Chairman steps down from role
PERTH Racing vice chairman Edward Rigg has resigned for personal reasons.
The avid racegoer and successful horse owner/breeder was elected to the committee in October 2012 and appointed vice chairman in October last year.
Last August, as committeeman, Mr Rigg sparked public concern that Ascot Racecourse could be sold when he flagged on radio a radical move to consolidate thoroughbred racing at Belmont Park in Burswood.
Perth Racing chairman expressed gratitude for Mr Rigg’s passion and contribution.
“My committee and I wish to thank Eddie for all his hard work and acknowledge his pivotal role with the recent Deliotte 2020 Strategy - a renewed direction and focus for Perth Racing and we look forward to seeing him and his family at the track.”
