‘Glass half-full’ rider ready to go
SOUTH Perth’s Simon Everett will be pushing the pedals this month as he gears up for the 2015 Hawaiian Ride for Youth.
It will be the 51year-old’s third ride and he said he had done thousands of kilometres in training.
“I’ve always been a rider,” he said. “And this is a great charity so it is worth it.”
The event began in 2003 and has since raised more than $10,000,000 to support Youth Focus to assist young West Australians.
The ride will be held from March 24-28 and the riders will cover more than 700km on their way from Albany to Perth.
Everett said he was a “glass half-full” type of person and he was looking forward to the ride.
“It is always fun and you get a lot of encouragement from the group,” he said.
