Disability access for viewing platform
The City of South Perth will spend $125,000 to modify a viewing platform for disability access after it was passed at last week’s council meeting.
The work will be funded from the City’s expected surplus, as it had not been budgeted for in the 2014-15 infrastructure capital works program.
The platform at Sir James Mitchell Park was completed during the 2009-10 financial year.
It was built with an open grating for wave action. However, after a complaint about disability access and a review by the City’s inclusive community action group, it was decided that the platform needed to be modified.
