Upmarket Maccas gives more choice

Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - Business - SuSANNE REILLy

AFTER success on the east coast, McDonald’s has launched its new Create Your Taste menu in WA.

I jumped at the chance to be one of the first customers to taste test the menu at the Ascot restaurant and experience the new restaurant style that it was offering.

First impressions are important and an impression was definitely made as two hosts greeted me as I made my way to the digital order counters.

The hosts talk you through the options and provide a friendly one-on-one service.

Although there were about 30 different options available, the process was quick and pain-free (no having to shout your order to the person behind the counter).

Once ordered, your host gives you your ticket and a device, which you put on your table so your waiter can find you.

Not long after I sat down, my drink was brought out to me, followed by my meal.

Burger, chips and drink. Standard maccas meal, but with a fancy, unique twist.

The patty was cooked to perfection and complemented by my favourite ingredients.

The ingredients were fresh and the jalapenos were spicy, just the way I like it.

■ It is expected all WA restaurants will roll out the Create Your Taste menu by July.
