Good Guys step up for homeless

STAFF from The Good Guys Belmont showed how good they really were by heading to the CBD to push around a food collection cart for charity.

Food Rescue, which is also based in Belmont, relies on volunteers to operate its Cargo Cart.

These volunteers are usually sourced from businesses in the CBD who push the cart through the streets of the CBD, visiting cafes after lunch.

Leftover sandwiches, wraps and rolls are collected then a Food Rescue van distributes the packaged food to homeless agencies the same day.

On Monday, February 23, team members from The Good Guys Belmont, including store manager Joshua Rimunui, travelled in to the CBD to take part for the first time.

“It is fantastic for my team to volunteer and see firsthand how food is rescued and appreciate the amazing work Food Rescue do to support numerous agencies around Perth,” Mr Rimunui said.
