PORTRAIT MASTER SHOWS HER WORK

Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - Photography -

AUSTRALIA’S most highly rewarded photographer, a resident of Victoria Park for more than 26 years, is holding a retrospective exhibition of her craft.

Lyn Whitfield-King was Australia’s first awarded Grand Master Photographer, with six gold bars, and her signature style portrait images from across the world have won acclaim consistently at the Australian Professional Photography Awards over many years.

Whitfield-King handcrafts her black and white images in her own dark room, which brings her photographs a rare, subtle elegance in these days of digital, pointand-shoot photography, although her many years of experience are plainly evident in her own digital work.

An artist in her field, Whitfield-King said she aimed to capture the true essence of each moment and emotion, or “the soul of photography”.

Called a Frame Around Life, the exhibition will be held at her Armagh Street studio by appointment.
