Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - Canning River -

THE Mt Henry Conservation Group has received $5500 as part of a $35,000 State Government plan to prevent contaminants and harmful nutrients entering the Swan River catchment.

Environment Minister Albert Jacob said it was one of 25 groups to receive funding this year, which will focus on such issues as revegetating priority waterways, bushland restoration, dieback management, weed control and management of feral pest species.

Group co-ordinator Mavis Andrews said the funding would help continue the group’s vital conservation work on the 11.9 hectare Mt Henry Peninsula area, particularly along the Canning River.
