President steps down
AFTER 24 years at the helm, Como resident Judith Pilatti has decided to step down as president of the Fremantle Netball Association.
Falling in love with netball in Collie at the age of 10, the Penrhos College employee played the sport all through her youth in various teams both in Perth and Collie.
Since becoming president in the ’90s, she has overseen a number of changes at FNA, including the expansion from 14 to 28 playing courts, a big jump in playing numbers and improvements to amenities.
Ms Pilatti said she would take many fond memories of her time with her.
“Being able to support a People with Disabilities competition, a tour of Singapore with one of our open teams and seeing over 5000 members playing each Saturday at Gibson Park to name a few,” she said.
“When I came to the position there were 309 teams and last year we had 514 teams.
“I will still be at Fremantle Netball each Saturday as I co-ordinate six Penrhos Boarder teams and coach one of them.”
Sondra Anderson has been appointed the new FNA president.
