Food brings Har­mony

MORE than 30 na­tion­al­i­ties are rep­re­sented among the 387 stu­dents at Carlisle Pri­mary School, mak­ing for colour­ful Har­mony Day cel­e­bra­tions last Tues­day

ctiv­i­ties in­cluded a na­tional cos­tume pa­rade, a spe­cial as­sem­bly, a Bol­ly­wood dance per­for­mance, a 'trip around the world' where stu­dents vis­ited class­room’s ded­i­cated to a va­ri­ety of in­ter­na­tional themes and a feast fea­tur­ing an ar­ray on in­ter­na­tional foods. The school also held an 'In­ter­na­tional masterchef' com­pe­ti­tion where each class cooked some­thing from a nom­i­nated coun­try, and dishes in­cluded kim­chee (Korea), potato cakes (Pak­istan), but­ter chicken curry (In­dia) and sushi (Ja­pan).
