KATE Ceberano is a huge Shirley Bassey fan, so it is little surprise she jumped at the chance to sing alongside Michael Falzon and WASO in The Music of James Bond.

“I love Shirley’s endurance, her commitment to herself and the sound of her voice,” Ceberano said.

“She’s not imitative of anyone and is a solid character.”

Ceberano said she longed for “a rabble-rousing crowd” during the performances, as audience members celebrated their favourite Bond songs with WASO.

“I’m going to use every ounce of my core to sing that note at the top of Goldfinger,” she said enthusiastically.

“Whatever emotion elicits from them, I beg the audience to be vocal about that.”

Ceberano said there was an expectation of entertainment when watching a James Bond film, which always started with the song.

When asked who her favourite Bond actor was, the singer said she loved Roger Moore, Daniel Craig was doing a great job but Sean Connery really owned it.

“And I’m so thrilled that my favourite actress in the whole wide universe, Monica Bellucci, is going to be the next Bond woman,” she said.

“She’s the first that’s actually going to be the same age, if not a few years older than Daniel Craig.”

Ceberano will be joined by musical theatre performer Michael Falzon ( Rock of Ages, We Will Rock You) who credits

her production of Jesus Christ Superstar as the reason he got in to the industry.

“It was Superstar that got me started on my career too,” Ceberano said.
