IT is that time of the year again when fans start to get excited about round one of the AFL season. The emails have done their rounds, with people signing up for tipping competitions and for me there is no better time of the year. The start of the season brings with it so much excitement and supporters are hoping their team will be there at the end of the season for that one day in September, or in this season's case - October. At the season launch last week captains cast their vote as to who will take home the silverware this year and last year's grand finalists, Hawthorn and Sydney, were the favourites. As for the Brownlow, Fremantle's Nat Fyfe fared best and given his season last year and pre-season games, you would think he was in for a chance. But then again it wouldn't be the first time a favourite has lost, you only have to look at last year's Grand Final result and Adam Cooney's Brownlow polling against favourite Gary Ablett's in 2008.
