No luck for Red­backs in Kick­ett’s 150th

THE Perth Red­backs’ men’s and women’s teams each lost their two games over the week­end against the Rock­ing­ham Flames and Man­durah Magic, on a tough week­end.

The Red­backs’ men’s team lost their away game to the Flames 86-106.

For­ward Ray Turner was their high­est scorer with 23 along with eight re­bounds while point-guard Joel Wag­ner had 13 points, nine re­bounds and seven as­sists.

The Red­backs’ men’s home-game loss to the Magic was a much tighter af­fair, with a score of 103-110.

Turner was again the Red­backs’ men’s high­est scorer with 31 along with 19 re­bounds while shoot­ing-guard Ben Smith scored 25 and had two as­sists and two steals.

The Red­backs’ women lost to the Flames, who won last year’s cham­pi­onship, 64-87.

Point-guard Gabby Clay­ton top-scored for the Red­backs’ with 26 along with five re­bounds while shoot­ing guard Meike Elk­ing­ton scored 18 and had five re­bounds and four as­sists.

For­ward Lau­ren Hall top­scored with eight points and eight re­bounds for the Red­backs in their 44-50 loss to the Magic.

Red­backs’ point-guard Monique Kick­ett scored six in her 150th game while also bring­ing down two re­bounds and mak­ing two as­sists. The women sit ninth in the league.
