BEWARE SAVVY HANDBAG THIEVES

Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - Street Watch -

Police are receiving weekly complaints about purses being stolen from hand bags whilst people are out enjoying a day at the shops. More often than not unsuspecting victims don't know that their purses have been stolen until they go to pay for their items at the checkout. Most victims are at a loss to know when or where the offence had taken place, which indicates the thieves carefully identify their targets. To lessen the chance of becoming a victim, always place your handbag in a position that you have control over. If you believe you are being watched and may become a target, approach security staff within the shopping centre and request assistance. Be vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour. - online or call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. Quote Reference Number 7630.
