A Damn good community project
ALANA Fluit, from Give A Damn, was the first winner of a microgrant at the inaugural Vic Park Soup event.
She will spend the $830 raised to transform the run-down area behind the Christian Centre for Social Action on Albany Highway into a sustainable garden for the whole community.
Participants paid $10 for soup, salad and bread and the opportunity vote for one of three community projects.
Ms Fluit’s project netted nearly 50 votes.
Held by the Vic Park Collective, the neighbourhood event will again be held on June 8.
