RENOVATED TO A HIGH STANDARD

Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - Residential -

WHEN owner Tim Angell first bought this property in 2003, the original dwelling was a less than practical home with a pokey floor plan.

“It was just a typical house in an older style that was just basic and not suited to us at all,” Mr Angell, who originally lived there with his mother and brother, said.

“So we basically knocked down most of the house, extended it to the side and back, and designed it so there were lots of separate areas so we weren’t living on top of one another.

“All we kept were two bedrooms, a hallway and a study, and things like the old kitchen – which was just small and useless – became a bathroom.”

Today, the welcoming residence beckons with its streamlined limestone facade, punctuated by low-maintenance garden beds and a new double carport on the 842sq m block.

Mixed with original features such as the jarrah floorboards, there is much to fall in love with.

Up the steps and past the secure entry, the home opens into a hallway with storage, leading through to the three bedrooms – including the master with ensuite – the laundry and the family bathroom.

Stepping further inside, the residence really comes to life in the free-flowing main living space, which extends all the way out to the pool.

“About 99 per cent of the time, I’ll cycle between the kitchen, the outdoor area and the study,” Mr Angell said.

“The kitchen is nice and big and I cook often, so that’s why we got the 900mm appliances.”

The tiled space is perfect for a family that loves to spend time together, with more than enough room for everyone to stretch out.

Downlights and a neutral colour scheme helps keep things looking sleek as well.

Flowing out from the lounge through beautiful double glass doors is the sunken alfresco entertaining space. It is perfect for barbecues and gettogethers. The adults can sit back here while watching over the kids in the pool.

Completing the home are ducted evaporative airconditioning, bore-reticulated gardens, a security alarm system and a cellar.
