Get your skates on and im­prove your fit­ness

IF your fit­ness rou­tine has be­come ex­actly that and you want to shed a few ki­los in time for win­ter, then Nordic sports may be what you are look­ing for.

Aus­trian-born Hannes Holly wants to share the sum­mer fit­ness se­crets he learned in Aus­tria with Aus­tralians.

Nordic sports in­clude Nordic walk­ing, cross-skat­ing, roller skat­ing and ski­ing on skates de­signed to mimic cross-coun­try ski­ing.

“The ac­tiv­i­ties in­volve us­ing skates, in some cases as­sisted by poles de­signed to give you a full body work­out.” Hannes said.

“In Aus­tria, it is de­signed to keep skiers fit dur­ing sum­mer to get them into shape for the win­ter ski­ing sea­son.”

Hannes said peo­ple could train 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Nordic Sports reg­u­larly hold events rais­ing money for char­i­ties such as the Heart Foun­da­tion and has pro­grams de­signed for se­niors.
