Spirit of giving is strong
THE residents at Swan Care in Bentley are going to be busy in the kitchen soon, baking up a lavish feast to help celebrate Biggest Morning Tea on Thursday, May 28.
Swan Care chief executive Graham Francis says the residents of the aged-care facility were very enthusiastic about this year’s event.
“As well as raising money for a very worthwhile cause, we believe it’s important to join in with community events – our residents love getting involved,” Mr Francis said.
“The philosophy of giving is definitely alive and well at Swan Care and we’re very proud of that.”
Since it began in 1994, the Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea has raised more than $70 million for cancer research, prevention, education and support.
This year, organisers hope to raise more than $10 million to fight the disease, which will affect one in two men, and one in three women before the age of 85.
