Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - Residential -

LOCAL property agency Wellington Barber Real Estate will be the first and only WA business to exhibit a range of properties at an industry event in China late this month, promoting Perth properties to Chinese investors and homebuyers.

The 6th Guangzhou International Quality Lifestyle and Property Expo, which runs May 22 to 24, offers buyers the opportunity to peruse overseas projects and meet with real estate professionals from all over the world, including Australia.

Wellington Barber Real Estate said their involvement in the event had already piqued the interest of property developers in China.

“During our time there, we have arranged to meet with two substantial property developers who are keen to be involved in joint venture projects in Perth,” Wellington Barber property consultant Cheryl Oprandi said.

“We will send team members who converse fluently in Mandarin and Cantonese to man our booths at the event, including four Perth-based real estate agents and a migration agent.”

There will also be an ANZ bank representative as well as an interpreter provided by the organisers.

Wellington Barber is also working with Tourism WA and China Southern Airlines to promote WA, alongside its properties, to the 100,000 people expected to visit the expo.

“Currently, all the properties we are promoting are from large developers, such as Builton, Watson Property Group and Handle Property Group,” Ms Oprandi said.

“We have a number of smaller, independent developers and quite a few businesses who have listed their product with us, ranging from $299,000 to $55 million.”

Wellington Barber agents Alice Chang, Terrence Chan and Cheryl Oprandi will

head to the event at the end of the month.
