Run­ning club brings stu­dents up to speed

PERTH­mu­ni­ d438551 EAST Vic­to­ria Park Pri­mary School has taken healthy life­style to the next level and has in­tro­duced a morn­ing run­ning club.

Ev­ery Wed­nes­day and Fri­day morn­ing the group gets to­gether to work on run­ning fit­ness and tech­nique.

The club was es­tab­lished to give stu­dents the op­por­tu­nity to par­tic­i­pate in phys­i­cal ac­tiv­ity and to help cre­ate a sense of com­mu­nity.

The ac­tiv­i­ties fo­cus on run­ning speed, tech­nique and agility in a va­ri­ety of spe­cific ac­tiv­i­ties.

Year One/Two teacher Re­nee Gilchrist said it was won­der­ful to see the stu­dents run­ning around en­joy­ing the morn­ing fit­ness ses­sion.

“I find the tran­si­tion into the class­room when the bell goes to be smooth, as they are fo­cussed and ready to learn,” she said.
