d438990 ARTISTS and pho­tog­ra­phers are be­ing called to help save lives through their art.

The Or­gan Do­na­tion and Trans­plant Foun­da­tion (ODAT) will hold its inau­gu­ral New Life Art ex­hi­bi­tion in cel­e­bra­tion of DonateLife Week.

Chief ex­ec­u­tive Si­mone McMa­hon said she hoped the ex­hi­bi­tion would bring in­creased dis­cus­sion and aware­ness for the cause.

ODAT is a not-for-profit or­gan­i­sa­tion that aims to in­crease public knowl­edge of or­gan and tis­sue do­na­tion by mak­ing in­for­ma­tion avail­able to the WA com­mu­nity.

“With or­gan and tis­sue do­na­tion rates at a crit­i­cal low, much needed com­mu­nity aware­ness and in­volve­ment is es­sen­tial to sav­ing the lives of those on trans­plan­ta­tion wait­ing lists,” Ms McMa­hon said.

“Our aim is to en­cour­age the lo­cal com­mu­nity to join us in cel­e­bra­tion of DonateLife Week and help make a dif­fer­ence to some­one else’s life.”
