Award re­cip­i­ents make lo­cal history

THE win­ners of the 2015 Vic­to­ria Park Lo­cal History Awards were an­nounced at a cer­e­mony at the Vic­to­ria Park Cen­tre for the Arts.

This year marked the 14th Lo­cal History Awards, which con­trib­utes to ex­pand­ing the Town’s col­lec­tion of photos and writ­ten history and en­sure the sig­nif­i­cance of the col­lec­tion.

This year the judges were Lore­ley Mor­ling, Jac­qui Sher­rif and Wilf Hen­driks.

Town of Vic­to­ria Park Mayor Trevor Vaughan pre­sented the win­ners and run­ners-ups with their prizes and cer­tifi­cates.

“The Town is im­mensely proud of its Lo­cal History Col­lec­tion and these an­nual awards en­able us to ex­pand our col­lec­tion and pre­serve our com­mu­nity’s col­lec­tive mem­o­ries for fu­ture gen­er­a­tions,” he said.
