Churchill Trust honour for pair
TWO local residents will be able to expand their skills after being announced as WA Churchill Fellows by the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust.
The trust was established 50 years ago to honour Churchill’s legacy, and celebrate and reward Australians who strive for excellence.
Jamie Brady of South Perth and Como’s Felicity Horrocks have both been named 2015 Fellows.
Mr Brady is a manager in the Infrastructure, Projects, Policy and Research division of the Department of Planning.
He will travel overseas to ex- plore the interface between industrial development and expanding residential communities.
Ms Horrocks, from the Department for Child Protection and Family Support, will examine innovative programs to reduce homelessness and housing stress for low-income families.
The project will examine programs successfully used in other countries to increase the supply of affordable housing for low to moderate income earners, and how these could be developed and implemented in Australia.
