Locals join state’s firefighting team
THREE local men are among the WA Fire and Rescue Service’s newest firefighters after graduating recently.
Mark Deering (Rivervale), Robert Kelemete (Manning) and Darrin Stobba from Como completed a 17-week course at the Fire and Emergency Services Academy gaining vital skills in fire fighting, road crash rescue, hazardous materials and community safety.
Fire and Emergency Services Commissioner Wayne Gregson congratulated them on their hard work and commitment to the West Australian community.
“It is exciting to see these young men and women stepping forward to serve their community,” he said,
“These graduates join a strong contingent of highly skilled West Australian firefighters, who will support and guide them during their ongoing development.”
