Play outdoor ping pong at lunch

Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - Opinion -

COMMUNITY members can now enjoy a game of ping pong on their lunch break with the installation of five Public Outdoor Ping Pong (POPP) tables.

The Town identified POPP as a creative way to promote physical activity, artwork and space activation in the one initiative and it was added to the Town’s Public Art Master Plan 2013-2015.

Chief executive Anthony Vuleta said the tables were a great addition to the Town’s lifestyle.

“These public pingpong tables are a bit of colour and fun in our parks and are a great way for people of all ages to get outside and stay active,” he said.

Paddles and boards will initially be provided at each table but users are encouraged to bring their own.

POPP tables are located at the following parks:

Houghton Park, St James;

Rayment Park, Lathlain;

John Bissett Reserve, East Victoria Park;

Hawthorn Park, Victoria Park; and

John MacMillan Park, East Victoria Park.
