Tech start-up group comes to town

THE maker move­ment is com­ing to Vic­to­ria Park af­ter the coun­cil agreed to part­ner with enkel and the Vic Park Col­lec­tive to ac­ti­vate an empty space at 874 Albany High­way.

enkel is a start-up co-op­er­a­tive made up of in­di­vid­u­als and or­gan­i­sa­tions who work to­gether to ex­plore new pos­si­bil­i­ties for WA in tech­nol­ogy, dig­i­tal in­no­va­tion and en­gi­neer­ing.

Town chief ex­ec­u­tive An­thony Vuleta said: “We welcome enkel to the town and I look for­ward to wit­ness­ing our com­mu­nity thrive even more through in­ter­ac­tion with this cut­ting-edge group.”

enkel co-founder Adam Jorlen said he was ex­cited about the pro­ject. “We are all about new pos­si­bil­i­ties for WA and we aim to in­spire and en­gage lo­cal peo­ple and busi­nesses in Vic Park to ex­plore what’s pos­si­ble for them and the com­mu­nity,” he said.

“We’ll do this with events, cour­ses, work­shops and con­fer­ences, which will all be listed on our web­site.”
