Owner’s sweet with RSPCA
HER apron and cupcakes trays are ready to go, as Belmont resident Leonie Notte gears up for Cupcake Day for the RSPCA.
The retired chef had never owned a dog before but adopted her late father’s german shepherd, Lassie, and said she couldn’t be happier.
“I couldn’t own a dog previously as I worked full-time, but Lassie is the best thing that’s ever happened to me and I really want to support the work the RSPCA does, and knowing I can combine this fundraiser with a morning tea for friends is just the icing on the cake,” she said.
RSPCA WA chief executive David van Ooran said Cupcake Day was a fun way for animal lovers who wanted to help make a difference to raise much-needed funds for RSPCA WA’s work.
Cupcake Day for the RSPCA will officially take place on August 17 and the animal welfare organisation is calling on all WA animal lovers to bake, ice and share dozens of cakes to help provide vital welfare services for animals across the State.
