AN article by Melbourne Graduate School of Education researcher Anna Dabrowski discussing single sex schools states that just as students should not be segregated by socio-economic status, race or culture, they should also not be segregated by gender, says Perth Montessori deputy principal Ian Michael.
“Research has failed time and again to demonstrate that single sex education produces better academic and social outcomes,” he said.
“In fact, Montessori schools never segregate students for any reason and actively promote coed education as better preparing students for life beyond the classroom.”
