WITH elec­toral rolls for the Oc­to­ber lo­cal gov­ern­ment elec­tions clos­ing on Au­gust 28, the State Elec­toral Com­mis­sion has re­minded all Western Aus­tralians to check their en­rol­ment is up to date.

Fol­low­ing re­cent changes to Com­mon­wealth leg­is­la­tion, peo­ple who have re­cently turned 18 or who may have changed ad­dress can have their Fed­eral en­rol­ment de­tails up­dated for them au­to­mat­i­cally. Check en­rol­ment de­tails are up to date by vis­it­ing www.elec­tions.wa.gov.au or by con­tact­ing the com­mis­sion’s call cen­tre on 13 63 06. Nom­i­na­tions for the Oc­to­ber elec­tions will open on Thurs­day, Septem­ber 3 and close on Thurs­day, Septem­ber 10 at 4pm.

You can­not vote or stand as a can­di­date if you are not on the roll.

Rolls will close at 5pm on Fri­day, Au­gust 28. Visit www.elec­tions.wa.gov.au.
