Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - Street Watch -

REGISTRATIONS are now open for Lifeline WA’s Out of the Shadows and Into the Light walk.

The event will involve hundreds of Western Australians gathering in Kings Park on September 5 to offer support and hope to those touched by suicide and mental illness.

Lifeline WA’s chief executive Fiona Kalaf said the walk was a great opportunity for community members to offer support and hope to one another.

“With one Western Australian lost to suicide daily, events like this are imperative in raising awareness for Lifeline’s 24/7 crisis support and suicide prevention services,” she said.

“Lifeline WA’s Out of the Shadows walk encourages people to talk about suicide, learn about suicide prevention and connect with the community to save lives.”

The walk will be held from 5.30-7.30 am on Saturday, September 5 in Kings Park. Breakfast will follow. To register visit www.out oftheshad find-a-walk.
