IS reducing the cost of on-street parking ( Southern-Gazette, August 25) the answer?
Perhaps we could review the cycling and walking infrastructure around our train stations, and invest in that instead?
Dedicated bicycle lanes, safe and connected footpaths, and adequate bicycle storage facilities would reduce congestion and encourage more people to walk and cycle to our train stations.
Let’s reduce our reliance on cars, and seek cost-effective, healthier and more environmentally friendly ways to commute to work. LIZ BRADSHAW, Victoria Park.
