MANNING Tennis Club is set to celebrate its 60th anniversary with a bang as the club opens its doors to the community for sporting fun both on and off the court.

Club president Ajay Tandon said the Diamond Jubilee Open Day event would encompass the club’s best qualities: the community atmosphere and commitment to offering something for everyone.

“Open Day is always special because it’s one of the few opportunities for everyone to get together and enjoy the game of tennis,” Mr Tandon said.

“The club sees itself as part of the community, which is why we offer a range of social and competitive tennis throughout the week, to cater for all ages and standards of both members and non-members.”

Along with friendly matches between tennis players of all ages, the Open Day will have a number of novelty games, including serving speed challenges and hit the target challenges.

Member Georgia Whitford (15) said she was most looking forward to playing against opponents from different age groups and areas of the community.

The Open Day will be held at Manning Tennis Club on September 12 from 1pm. Information is available at manningtennisclub.com.
