Racecourse set to host pop-up waterpark
SITTING just four kilometres from the city, Belmont Racecourse is a large piece of land just waiting to be used.
This summer, a pop-up waterpark will make use of it after the Town of Victoria Park approved it at last week’s council meeting.
It will open in November and operate until April.
Xscape at the City will feature a combination of slides, rides, and activities. The main attraction will be a twin-lane water slide almost 13-storeys high.
Park directors Douglas Campbell and Nasir David have been designing, procuring, constructing and operat- ing successful leisure parks in WA for the past 30 years and operate Xscape at the Cape in Dunsborough.
The plan will now go to the WA Planning Commission for approval.
Town chief executive Anthony Vuleta said his team was excited about Xscape being hosted within the Town of Victoria Park.
“I think it will fit in well with our vibrancy,” he said.
“After enjoying the popup water park I invite visitors to spend some time in the Town discovering our wonderful parks, foreshore, places to eat and great shopping options.”
