Record entries for Fremantle portrait prize
MORE than 1800 entries were received for the Fremantle International Portrait Prize, breaking its previous record of 1760 submissions.
There were 1865 photos submitted to this year’s competition, with a long list of 620 announced earlier this month.
FiPP is fast becoming one of Australia’s biggest international photography competitions, with entries from 29 countries submitted this year.
FiPP chief steward Dale Neill said they expected around $25,000 to have been raised for their chosen charity, Arthritis & Osteoporosis WA.
The shortlist will be announced on Friday, with winners announced on October 24.
An exhibition will be held at the Moores Contemporary Art Gallery from October 25 to November 1.
