Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - Footy Finals 2015 -

www.communitypix.com.au d443880 THE CountUSin program has helped change the lives of more than 200 City of Belmont residents, and now that it is in its 10th round, it will affect many more lives.

It is a 10-week program that includes a three-month gym membership, weekly exercise group sessions co-ordinated and run by mentors who are qualified per- sonal trainers, in addition to fortnightly cooking classes

City of Belmont Mayor Phil Marks said the program continues to be a great success for residents of all ages, encouraging healthy living for all.

“CountUSin is not only an avenue to provide education on nutrition and healthy lifestyles; it also works to connect the local community to facilities and service providers available throughout the City,” he said.

Participant Sarah Burton said the CountUSin program had allowed her to regain her self-confidence.

“It has made such a difference. I not only lost 9.3kg in 9 weeks but I also decreased my resting blood pressure and pulse, im- proved flexibility and all my initial measurements,” she said.

“I feel stronger and able to continue my weight loss journey with what our mentors taught us.”
