Cel­e­brat­ing in­no­va­tion in WA’s public sec­tor

THE Depart­ment of Parks and Wildlife, with head­quar­ters in Kens­ing­ton, and WA Po­lice are among 20 fi­nal­ists in the 2015 Premier’s Awards for Ex­cel­lence in Public Sec­tor Man­age­ment.

Premier Colin Bar­nett said the awards cel­e­brated the breadth of out­stand­ing ini­tia­tives be­ing un­der­taken across the WA public sec­tor.

The Depart­ment of Parks and Wildlife is a fi­nal­ist in two cat­e­gories – Im­prov­ing Gov­ern­ment, for its Mak­ing Waves in Marine Man­age­ment pro­gram, and Man­ag­ing the En­vi­ron­ment for its Small Hands Mak­ing a Big Dif­fer­ence: cross-sec­tor col­lab­o­ra­tion in con­ser­va­tion pro­ject.

WA Po­lice is a fi­nal­ist in the De­vel­op­ing the Econ­omy cat­e­gory for its Front­line 2020 re­form which was first tri­alled in the South­East Metropoli­tan dis­trict.

Win­ners will be an­nounced on Oc­to­ber 28.
