Bus link connects city

Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - News -

PERTH’S first direct bus route from the CBD to the Perth Airport precinct is expected to have 1000 boardings a week after it starts next month.

Transport Minister Dean Nalder said the bus route would run every half hour from Esplanade Busport, via Burswood Station, Victoria Park Transfer Station and Belmont Forum, on to terminals 1 and 2.

“The State Government recognises that the public wants integrated smart transport solutions to get them around our growing city; this is one of those services,” Mr Nalder said.

He said the State and Federal governments had invested in infrastructure around the airport, including Gateway WA and the Forrestfield-Airport Link.

“With the $1 billion Gateway project on track for completion next year, and a number of vital new interchanges around the airport opened last month, tourists and travellers have a new gateway into Western Australia,” he said.

“And in only five years, these same passengers will be able to catch a train on the Forrestfield-Airport Link.”
