CARE FOR DOGS

Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - Opinion -

WHY do people let their dogs wander about?

Keep them on a leash if they are out with you and if you are not out with them please make your yard secure so they cannot get out.

With us heading into summer, it is more important than ever that dogs do not wander as it is not fair if the dog through human stupidity happens to get hurt, killed or bites someone and then there is the great outcry to kill the dog.

Look after your dog by making sure it has proper shelter, plenty of water, wears a collar with a tag for identification in case it gets out or some criminal lets it out.

Ensure the dog is microchipped (this helps with identification as well), sterilised, fed properly and not left on its own for days or weeks on end without someone looking after it. MARGARET RYAN, Ballajura.
