Jewel in the crown

BREATHTAKING is one way to describe the view patrons will have from the new 500room Crown Towers Perth.

This photo was taken by our photographer as Crown Perth celebrated topping off.

The practice of topping off dates back to the Scandinavian tradition of placing a tree atop a new building to appease the tree-dwelling spirits dis- placed during construction.

Symbolising the 500 new rooms, Crown Perth celebrated this ancient rite by donating 500 trees to Burswood Park to beautify the natural surrounds and contribute to the local community.

Crown Australian Resorts chief executive Barry Felstead said more than 2500 personnel had been involved in construc- tion and Crown would employ more than 500 people upon completion.

“This will support the Western Australian economy and stimulate more international, interstate and intrastate events, conferences and conventions to be held locally,” he said.

Crown Towers is scheduled to open in December 2016.
