Art in comfortable surrounds of home

Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - Opinion -

ASHLEIGH Peralla, who has a studio in Ascot, is among more than 30 artists who will converge on eight South Fremantle homes for the annual Artist Open House Fremantle.

Names like Olivia Samec, Alessandra Rossi, Britt Dunbar, Lesley Munro and Dale Frances will join artists from all over WA and Australia for the event, embracing the chance to show their work in a more relaxed and informal set- ting than an exhibition space.

Artist Open House Fremantle director Cathrina Read said the show would be diverse, with styles and prices to suit everyone.

“Artist Open House Fremantle gives everyone a chance to look at art in a comfortable and relevant context, while taking a sneak peek into some beautiful private homes,” she said.

A new aspect to this year’s event is the ‘stylised home’.

“We will furnish and style one house entirely, so everything in the house, including the art, will be for sale,” Read said.

All homes taking part in the event are within walking distance of each other.

The Artist Open House Fremantle is on November 13-15.
