KEWDALE Primary School celebrated its centenary last month with special guests from 98.5 Sonshine FM. The radio station’s breakfast show brought their Free Coffee Friday to the school community to celebrate the 100year achievement by providing free coffee and donuts to students and teachers. While being treated to the tasty breakfast, the school choir performed renditions of WA-themed songs Green Hills of Albany and Might Long Way. As part of the festivities, 98.5’s Morro and Ash, along with 50,000 brekkie listeners, were offered an insight into the school’s long and diverse history. Principal Brian Simpson said: “The school opened about three months before the Gallipoli landing. We’re fortunate that we still have the original classroom that was built in 1915 and is still used today.”
