Residents can air concerns at forum

Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - News -

BELMONT MLA Glenys Godfrey will host a community forum on Thursday to hear residents’ concerns about the new Forrestfield-Airport Link and the Development Area 6 (DA6) plans.

The City of Belmont council endorsed the DA6 plan to go out for public advertising at its October council meeting.

It is an area of 174ha around Perth Airport and Redcliffe which had been identified as a suitable location for redevelopment.

Transport Minister Dean Nalder, as well as representatives from Main Roads, the Public Transport Authority and the City of Belmont, will answer questions .

Mrs Godfrey said the link would deliver several benefits, but there were legitimate concerns in the community about the roads layout.

“It is important to me that the key decision-makers in this project hear and address the concerns,” she said.

“This is why I have arranged for all relevant agencies to be together in the same room, so there is no ‘he said, she said’.

“I hope that by having all decision makers in one room we are able to reach a solution that benefits the community as a whole.”
