Upgrades made easier

Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - Street Watch -

UPGRADES at St Maria Goretti’s Catholic School have been made easier with a $900,000 grant from the Federal Government’s Capital Grants Program.

The Redcliffe school is undertaking upgrades worth $3.4 million.

Swan MHR Steve Irons said the upgrades would ensure students could get the most out of their education.

“While buildings alone do not make a school, St Maria Goretti’s Catholic School students will benefit when these enhanced facilities are complete, and for years to come,” he said.

Minister for Education and Training Simon Birmingham said the Government was committed to providing funding for non-government schools to improve capital infrastruc- ture where local school communities could not otherwise afford to do so.

“The Government believes in an education system that puts students first – a system that delivers a quality education, in quality school classrooms, science labs, libraries, and gives young people the opportunity to achieve personal success to contribute to our nation,” he said.
